Prince Vs Wilson: Which Have The Best Rackets

Are you wondering which racket brand is best for you to use? Is it Wilson or Prince? Both are great racket manufactures and sometimes is kind hard to decide which to choose.

I hope I can help you to make this decision, I know exactly how hard is to decide and I made extensive researches to find the reasons for you to choose one brand from another.

Which brand you should choose? Prince or Wilson?

I think that the first thing we should choose is the brand of the racket you want to use and then after this you find in this brand the best racket for your game.

Where are Prince and Wilson rackets made? Both are from the same place; they all are produced on China factories. The only Tennis racket company that doesn’t make rackets in China is Yonex, they have a factory in Japan.

Normally all those big brands that make rackets are very competent, they all have good quality rackets and if you want to choose a brand because your idol uses it, there is no problem with that, in fact, I did that.

When I started playing Tennis, I wasn’t a fan of the sport, so I have chosen a brand that I know has one of the best quality controls on rackets, the Yonex racket.

But, one day I decided to watch Tennis and soon enough I started to have a favorite player: Simona Halep, and after this I started to like to watch others players like: Daniil Medvedev, Coco Gauff, Hsieh Su-wei, Stan Wawrinka and many others.

That’s when I decide to buy the same racket that Halep uses, a Wilson racket. I am lucky to have found the same model, but if I couldn’t find, at least I could use the same brand and painting.

Find out the model of the racket a ATP Tennis player use clicking here and the rackets of WTA players here in this link, it is going to open a new tab to another article on this same blog.

If you like Wilson and Prince and wish to know more about those two brands before making you choice, I will help you decide.

Let’s considerate some points about both brand:

  • Wilson is known for making the best control rackets;
  • Prince is known for rackets with different string pattern, normally more open;
  • Is easier to find Wilson rackets on the marketing than Prince’s and so is easier to trade and sell your old model;
  • The grip of a Prince racket has a squarer shape than Wilson’s rackets;
  • You can find good quality rackets from Prince with better prices;
  • If you are a beginner, Wilson has better models for you;
  • Chances are that your favorite pro Tennis player uses Wilson, not many pros use Prince’s rackets. Wilson sells more rackets than Prince.

In summary, if you are an intermediate to advanced Tennis player and don’t care about brand popularity and want something different than the rackets everybody else uses, go with a Prince, you will probably pay less, else, choose Wilson.

The best rackets from Prince and Wilson

Looking at the several rackets reviews and best rackets list on internet you can easily say that most of then features Wilson’s rackets above Prince’s rackets, sometimes there is no place for Prince rackets to show up on those lists.

The best Wilson rackets varies in three models, sometimes is Wilson Pro Staff 97, for beginners and tennis elbow is Wilson Clash or sometimes the best is Wilson Blade 98. In this article here you can find a list with the best beginner’s model of Wilson rackets.

For Prince, one of the most famous rackets is Prince Textreme Warrior 100, that’s the one Andy Roddick endorses and probably uses, beside this one, the Prince O3 Legacy 120 is normally the best for beginners.

If you want the best control racket of all brands, the Wilson Pro Staff 97 is one of the bests, the Wilson Blade 98 is also in the top of the list and then we have the Prince Phantom 97P if you want to choose Prince.

Just remember, no matter the brand or model of a racket, make sure to buy on with a grip size that suites you better, I talk about grip size here in this Post.

Famous Tennis players that use Prince rackets

The list of top players using a Prince racket is short, the most famous is Andry Roddick with his Prince Textreme Warrior 100, another top Tennis player that uses Prince is Pablo Andujar, he endorses Prince Phantom O3 100X, but he is probably using a Prince O3 Tour (TX141P) with another painting.

On WTA is not different, the list is also short, Vera Zvonareva endorses the Prince O3 Tour 100 but is using the Prince Exo3 Tour 100 16×18.

In the past, a lot more top Tennis players used Prince rackets on the tour: Pat Cash, Andre Agassi, David Ferrer, Maria Sharapova, Jelena Janković, Bob and Mike Bryan, Michael Chang, David Nalbandian, Pat Rafter and Juan Carlos Ferrero are some examples.
