The Average Weight for Pro Tennis Players
Have you wondered how much a pro tennis player normally weights? I did and all the results from my research you can see on this post.
The average weight of a male pro tennis player is 176 lbs. (80kg) and for female pro tennis players the average is 141 lbs. (64kg). If you mix both male and female pro tennis players, the average would be 159 lbs. (72kg).
To know the average weight, I went to the ATP official website to collect the weight of the top 100 players, for the woman players it was more difficult since the official website doesn’t have this information. I had to search on sites like Wikipedia, tennis.com and eurosport.com, from the top 120 I only got the data for 86 tennis players.
The full list with the weight of the players from ATP and WTA I posted below on this text. I am not a pro tennis player, but I learned that my weight is below the average, but I could see that some pro tennis players have the same weight as me and that is why is good to look in the full list.
Important: Weight can vary a lot and the data collected for this research is not gonna be 100% accurate, principally for the WTA players that don’t have the weight listed on the official site, but you can have an idea about the weight of the pros.

Who is the heaviest pro tennis player? The heaviest is John Isner with 238 lbs. (108kg) and for the WTA top 100 tennis players the heaviest is Aryna Sabalenka with 175 lbs. (80kg). Considering the Top 100 players for ATP and WTA of February 2022.
So what is the ideal weight for a tennis player? In general, the ideal weight is in a range of 121 lbs. (55 kg) to 193 lbs. (88 kg), this If you consider the research I did on this post, but in reality just the weight shouldn’t have all the attention. The height is very important too, the proportion between height and weight is more important than just weight alone.
